Au pair and learn English

The majority of our au pairs arrive with at least conversational English and want to learn English at a local college.

An important element of the Au Pair Programme is learning English. The majority of our au pairs arrive with at least conversational English, sometimes higher.

ABC Au Pairs have been welcoming au pairs to England for 20 years. We take care to match you to a suitable family, taking into account your independence, interests and other aspects of personality.

They normally want to study at a local college and time must be given to attend classes. The schools normally plan the timetable to fit in with the standard au pair job so the au pair will be finished in time to collect children from school.

The au pair is normally expected to pay for classes, although some families may wish to make a contribution. It is important that the host family works with the au pair to find a suitable English course at a language school not too far from the family home.

ABC Au Pairs will send the au pair links to au pair language schools and will also send details of other au pairs in the area so they can discuss options with girls and boys who are already at the school to learn English.
