Travel Arrangements

Au pairs normally pay their own return fare to Britain. The agency will keep you informed about arrival details. We ask you to meet your au pair at the airport or station. If this is impossible, we can make arrangements to meet your au pair and an additional fee will be charged. If you live far from the arrival point, you will be expected to pay transfer costs from the airport to your home.

When confirming the booking families must provide a letter of invitation, which should be sent to the Agency with your fee. This confirms the booking.

Au Pairs from countries where a visa is required may have to register with the police. If they need to register, this requirement will be stamped in their passport. They must register within seven days of arriving in the United Kingdom. To register, they will need their passport and two passport size photographs.

If they are staying in the Metropolitan Police Area, they should take these to:

The Overseas Visitors Records Office
Brandon House
180 Borough High Street
London SE1 1LH
The office is open between 9:00 and 4:30 Monday to Friday. You can get more information from the Overseas Visitors Records Office on 020 7230 1208.

If they are not staying in the Metropolitan Police Area, they should contact your local police service for the address and opening hours of other police registration offices.

They will have to pay a fee of around £35 for registering with the police. Some families may choose to pay this for their au pair.
